4. Purpose and legal basis for data processing
On our website we offer our academic and administrative services as well as public information about our activities in compliance with Art. 2 Par. 6 BayHSchG and Art. 4 Par. 1 Cl. 1 & 2 BayEGovG.
The temporary storage of any user’s IP address by the system is necessary to enable the proper provision of the website for the user’s computer. To this end, the user’s IP address will be stored for the duration of the session.
The data is stored in log files to ensure the full functionality of the website. Furthermore the data is used to optimize the website and to guarantee the safety of our IT-based systems. In this context, the data is not evaluated for marketing purposes.
Above purposes describe our legitimate interest in data processing according to Art. 6 par. 1 lit. f of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
5. Use of cookies
Our website uses cookies. Cookies are text files stored by the web browser on the user’s computer. Cookies may be transmitted to a website upon access and allow for the identification of the user. Cookies simplify the utilization of websites for users.
You can deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies at any time by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies already stored on your computer may be deleted in the process.
Please note that the deactivation of cookies may negatively affect the performance and functionality of our website.
6. Storage in log files
Each time our website is accessed, an automated system collects data and information from the accessing user’s computer. These packages are stored in the log files of the server.
The following data may be collected and stored:

date and time of the access
websites from which the user’s system was led to our website (referrers)
websites visited and files opened via our website
This data is processed exclusively to ensure the provision of the contents of our website, to ensure the functional capability of our IT-based systems and to optimize our website.
7. Communication
Should you have any concerns and contact us via e-mail, mail or telephone, the information provided will be processed for the purpose of answering your request, the following exchange of opinions and potential ensuing questions. Unless you explicitly wish differently, we will answer your request using the same means of communication originally used by you to establish contact. The storage of data serves the sole purpose of answering your request to the best of our abilities and to establish contact with the concerned person. The collected data will not be forwarded to third parties.
8. Integration of Google Maps
We have embedded the services offered by Google Maps into our website. We can therefore offer integrated interactive maps enabling you to comfortably use all of our map features.
Upon visiting our website, Google will be notified of your visit to our subsite containing the Maps feature. Additionally, the information listed under §3 of this policy will be transmitted. This process occurs regardless of the existence of a Google Account. If you are logged into a Google Account, the information will automatically be assigned to your account. Should you not wish for the data to be matched to your account, you need to sign out of your Google Account prior to the activation of the button of the Maps feature. Google saves your data as user profiles and uses these profiles for advertising, market analysis and/or user-appropriate website design. This evaluation occurs specifically to provide appropriate advertising and to inform other users of social networks of your activities on our website (even for users not logged into their accounts). You do have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles, however these objections must be directed at Google.

Google also processes your personal data in the US and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield.
9. Recipients and categories of recipients of personal data
Our IT-provider may be a recipient of your personal data within the framework of our contracts with them concerning the processing of data.
10. Data erasure and maximum storage time
Personal data will be erased or made inaccessible when the purpose of storage is omitted, 7 days later at the most. Besides that, your data may be stored if the European or national legislative authorities have contemplated regulations, laws or other kinds of provisions binding us.
11. Rights of the concerned
If your personal data is processed, you become a concerned person according to DS-GVO and you have the following rights:
If your personal data is processed, you have the right to be informed about the data stored on your person (especially the categories of data, the purpose of processing and the duration of storage).
Right of correction (Art. 16 DSGVO)
Should incorrect personal data of yours be processed, you have the right of correction and/or completion.
If the legal requirements are met, you can request the limitation of processing or the altogether erasure of your personal data as well as objecting to the processing of said data.
